Woke up late

I tested the alarm the night before. It worked good. Reset it for work the next morning and it never went off. ??? Was using music play list for my alarm from my iTunes with fade louder every ten seconds and volume turned up most of the way. No idea what went wrong. Would be every thing I wanted if it would do the most important function and wake me up.
